Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 victories have been won on hard courts
A revitalized the Russian player claimed his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently working with his coach and Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought three-set victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's maiden title since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since spring of the previous year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 victories at 21 various competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a title is really nice," commented tennis professional the champion.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his previous six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.
The player's defensive play style and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to wonder if his capacity to play at the highest level was finished.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
The champion came back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden tour championship, gained dominance to force a final set.
He rescued 4 early-game opportunities in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev earned the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
